Gathering to Watch the Eclipse at Linford Methodist church

On 12 August, local residents and people from churches across the South Essex Circuit came together to experience the partial eclipse. It was a lovely opportunity to spend time together, chat, and enjoy hot dogs and cakes. It was estimated that around 70 people attended.

Rev Fiona Smith led us in a time of devotion as we reflected on God’s universe and his love for us. Craft activities and prayer stations helped everyone appreciate the awe and wonder of God’s creation.

Finally, it was time for the eclipse itself. Specially provided glasses, colanders, and homemade cameras helped everyone watch the eclipse safely as it happened.

The Circuit hopes to use Linford Methodist Church for many more exciting events so keep a look out for future notices!
