Welcome to Revd Dr George Quarm

George Quarm

We are delighted to welcome Revd George Quarm to the South Essex Methodist Circuit as one of our Circuit Ministers. As George begins his ministry with us, he has shared the following introduction and message with the Circuit:

'Greetings, and a warm welcome to you.

I am delighted to join the South Essex Circuit as Circuit Minister. I come with joy, with gratitude, and with a deep commitment to the calling God has placed upon my life. My ministry is shaped by being firm in faith, pastoral in spirit, and professional in service, and I look forward to serving God and our community together.

I am married to Ewurama (Ama), a dedicated Local Preacher, whose support and partnership in ministry continue to strengthen our shared work for the Lord. We have three grown sons, and as a family we cherish the privilege of serving God’s people wherever we are called.

My day off is Monday, set aside for rest and renewal.

Beyond ministry, I am a lover of life’s simple joys. I enjoy football (a committed Manchester United supporter), travelling, and exploring the beauty of God’s world. Some of my favourite places include Labrador, Newfoundland, Geneva in Switzerland, and Yellowknife in Canada. I also enjoy documentaries, especially those that explore history, culture, and human stories. Music is a gift I treasure deeply — I am a lover of country music and a singer, inspired by artists whose songs carry emotion, storytelling, and soul.

My heart is especially drawn to the sick, the dying, and the vulnerable in society. I believe the Church must be a place of refuge, compassion, and practical care — a community where every person is seen, valued, and supported.

As I begin this new chapter in South Essex, my hope is simple: That we will work together, serve together, and grow together — as a people shaped by grace, strengthened by faith, and committed to loving our neighbours.

I end with three words of wisdom that guide my journey and prayer for all who visit this page:

“You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in You.”Isaiah 26:3 “Service becomes meaningful when it is offered with compassion, courage, and a heart open to others.” “Community grows stronger when we choose kindness, welcome the stranger, and walk together in hope.”

God bless you, and God bless our shared ministry.'

We warmly welcome George and his family to South Essex and look forward to sharing in ministry, worship and fellowship together in the years ahead.
